About Us

In 2012 Stephanie Shanks opted to take her farmers’ market hobby to the next level and begin producing Chickadee Larder Gourmet Condiments for the wholesale market. Renting commercial space was simply too expensive to pursue, so, by June 2013, a  home-based commercial facility was built. Sadly, in August 2014, the wholesale business was closed (see our Open Letter). From the experience, however, the goal shifted to helping others try their hand at seeing their dreams become reality.

The process, hoops and heavy costs associated with the legal sale of foods outside of a farmers’ market can be extremely prohibitive, and our hope is that we can do the “dance” on behalf of other small business hopefuls and enable them to test the market without the high risks we undertook.

We would like to help you take that recipe, idea or service to the next level in a safe and comfortable way with no long-term commitments required, and significantly lower rental rates.
