Requirements

 

In order to ensure that all parties are protected and in line with Public Health regulations, the following requirements are in place:

  • Food Safety Certificate: New Brunswick Public Health requires that at least one person with Food Safety Certification be present in a food preparation premises. Exams are offered at the beginning of each month at the Public Health office in Fredericton. Courses can be purchased from TrainCan (online or book version).

  • Small Business Liability Insurance: Policies are available for special events, markets, wholesale, etc. We recommend Cain Insurance (Natalie Neville) for very affordable rates for a small start-up (one-time, short-term or long-term). Chickadee Larder Kitchen holds liability insurance to ensure both parties are protected.
